BeeVPN ApS (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the MathXP platform, an AI-assisted math tutoring service for schools. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when MathXP is used.

1. Data We Collect

Account Data

  • Email address provided by a school or teacher during enrollment
  • Password, stored in hashed form

Problem-Solving Data

  • Photos of handwritten solutions submitted through the app
  • Grading and feedback results
  • Session progress and related learning activity within the app

Technical and Operational Data

  • App version, locale/language, and platform
  • Operational information needed to run, secure, and troubleshoot the service

2. Data We Do Not Collect

  • No advertising identifiers
  • No location data
  • No contacts, calendar, health, or biometric data
  • No third-party analytics SDKs
  • No advertising SDKs

3. How We Use Your Data

We use collected data to:

  • Provide app functionality, including solution submission, grading, feedback, and progress tracking
  • Operate, secure, maintain, and improve the service
  • Send password reset emails when requested
  • Maintain academic progress history within the platform

4. AI-Assisted Grading

MathXP includes AI-assisted grading for submitted handwritten math solutions.

In some cases, a de-identified photo of a handwritten solution may be shared with third-party AI service providers for analysis in order to generate grading or feedback.

  • Your email address is not shared with those providers
  • Data shared with those providers is de-identified before processing
  • This processing is used only to provide grading and feedback
  • Data shared with those providers is not used to train third-party AI models

5. Photo Data

Photos of handwritten work are captured or uploaded solely for solution submission, grading, and feedback.

  • Photos are transmitted securely to our backend
  • Photos may in some cases be sent in de-identified form to third-party AI service providers for grading or feedback
  • Photos may be stored on our servers for session history and academic progress review
  • Photos are not used for advertising or marketing
  • Photos are deleted when the user’s account is deleted or upon request, subject to applicable retention obligations

6. Third-Party Services

We use third-party service providers only where necessary to operate the service.

  • Third-party AI service providers may process de-identified photos of handwritten solutions for grading and feedback

7. Data Retention

  • Account data is retained while the student is enrolled
  • Session and problem data is retained for academic progress tracking
  • Data is deleted upon account deletion request, subject to applicable legal or operational retention requirements

8. Account Deletion

Users, or parents/guardians acting on behalf of minors where applicable, may request account deletion by emailing contact@mathxp.app.

Upon deletion request, we will delete or anonymize account data, session data, and stored solution images, subject to applicable legal obligations.

9. Your Rights

Depending on applicable law, users may have rights including access, correction, deletion, and portability of personal data.

10. Children’s Privacy

MathXP is used in educational settings where students may be under 13 (US) or under 16 (EU).

  • Student accounts are created by schools or teachers, not by students directly
  • Schools or educational institutions act as the appropriate consenting party where permitted by applicable law
  • No direct marketing is sent to students
  • Parents or guardians may contact contact@mathxp.app regarding access, correction, or deletion requests where applicable
