Terms of Service
Last updated: March 3, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the MathXP platform operated by BeeVPN ApS ("we", "us", "our"). By using MathXP, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
1. Description of Service
MathXP is an AI-assisted math tutoring platform for schools. Features include problem sessions, solution submission and AI grading, progress tracking, and leaderboards. The service is provided "as is" with reasonable efforts to maintain availability.
2. User Accounts and Conduct
- Accounts are created by school administrators or teachers
- Users must not share credentials or impersonate others
- Users must not submit inappropriate, offensive, or non-academic content
- BeeVPN ApS may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms
3. AI-Assisted Grading
Student-submitted solutions, including photos of handwritten work, are processed by automated AI systems (OpenAI) for grading and feedback.
- Solution images and problem descriptions are sent to OpenAI's API for processing
- Images are not used to train AI models
- Data is retained on our servers for academic progress tracking
4. Photo License
Students grant BeeVPN ApS a limited license to process photos of handwritten work solely for the purpose of AI-assisted grading.
- Images are transmitted over TLS to our backend, then forwarded to OpenAI for grading
- Images are stored on our servers for session history and academic progress review
- Images are not used for advertising, marketing, or AI model training
- Images are deleted when the student's account is deleted or upon request
5. Leaderboard and Visible Data
- Students are represented by anonymized display names that are not derived from real names and are not personally identifiable
- Display names are visible to other students enrolled in the same course
- Performance data (XP, streak, level) is displayed on course leaderboards visible to classmates
- No personal information is shown to other students
6. Children and Education (COPPA & GDPR-K)
MathXP is used in educational settings where students may be under 13 (US) or under 16 (EU).
- Student accounts are created by schools and teachers, not by students directly
- Schools act as the consenting party under COPPA's school consent exception
- No data is collected directly from children without school or teacher authority
- No direct marketing to students
- Parents or guardians may contact us at hello@mathxp.app to review, correct, or delete their child's data
7. Institutional Relationship
- BeeVPN ApS provides the MathXP platform as a technology service
- Educational institutions (schools) manage student enrollment, course assignment, and curriculum
- BeeVPN ApS is not responsible for educational outcomes or institutional enrollment decisions
- The school or teacher is the data controller for student records; BeeVPN ApS acts as data processor
8. Account Deletion
Users (or parents/guardians of minors) may request account deletion by emailing hello@mathxp.app.
- Account data is removed upon request
- Session and problem data is anonymized or purged
- Solution images are deleted
- Deletion requests are processed within 30 days
9. Intellectual Property
- The MathXP platform, including its design, code, and content, is owned by BeeVPN ApS

11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, BeeVPN ApS's liability is limited to the amount paid for the service (if any). BeeVPN ApS is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including but not limited to loss of data, service interruptions, or reliance on AI-generated feedback.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of MathXP after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. Users will be notified of material changes.
